Job Summary
The Foreman is responsible for overseeing and directing the daily operations of refrigeration projects. This role involves supervising a team of skilled workers and ensuring that all projects adhere to specified standards timelines and budgets. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in refrigeration systems strong leadership abilities and a keen eye for detail to ensure the successful execution of project objectives.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct the daily operations of refrigeration projects.
- Lead a team of skilled workers to ensure adherence to specified standards timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless project integration and execution.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks to maintain high standards of workmanship.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
- Develop and implement project plans and schedules.
- Monitor project progress and adjust as necessary to meet project objectives.
- Manage resource allocation and ensure efficient use of materials and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Prepare and present progress reports to stakeholders.
- Drive a company vehicle to customer sites to fulfill work orders.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems and components
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Proficient in using industry-specific tools and software
- Strong problem-solving troubleshooting and organizational skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols
- Basic computer and phone skills
Education/Experience:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in refrigeration maintenance or a similar field
- Proven ability to manage and lead a team effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to addressing technical issues
- Proficiency in understanding and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with refrigeration systems tools and equipment
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- OSHA 30-hour certification required
Travel Requirements:
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Anticipated 100% travel to project sites nationwide
- Ability to travel occasionally to attend meetings trainings and events.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to wear and utilize all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Bend kneel and crouch for extended periods
- Ability to perform repetitive movements
- Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas
- Ability to lift carry and move objects weighing up to and exceeding 50 pounds
- Adequate vision to perform all required tasks
- Work on ladders scaffolding and rooftops
- Comfortable with heights and able to climb and descend safely
- Strong sense of balance and spatial awareness
- Participate in respiratory fit testing and use as required
