As part of our separation from our parent company Medtronic we are building a standalone organization with leaders to enable strategic growth and operational excellence (link topress release Medtronic Diabetes intent to separate . To that end we are seeking a highly experienced and strategicSr Director Strategy & Enterprise Architecture to establish our applied architecture practice.

This role can be located in Northridge (LA Metro-area) Minneapolis or Duluth (Atlanta Metro-area).

TheSenior Director Chief Architectwill serve as the senior-most technology architect in IT shapingenterprise-wide architecture and technology strategy. This is ahands-on leadership role focused on applied architecture and deep technical expertise rather than building a large EA department. This role will:

  • Act as thearchitecture authorityacross enterprise systems and platforms.
  • Drive the definition ofstandards patterns and roadmapsfor core systems (ERP MES QMS CRM cloud).
  • Partner with peers in ERP Infrastructure Cybersecurity Manufacturing Quality R&D and GTM to ensure architectural coherence.
  • Lead anEnterprise Architecture Community of Practice mentoring solution/domain architects across IT.
  • Guide adoption ofemerging technologies(AI automation analytics digital platforms) where they create measurable value.

Key Responsibilities

Technology & Architecture Leadership

  • Define and maintain theenterprise architectureacross applications data infrastructure and integration.
  • Providehands-on architectural guidancefor major initiatives:
    • ERP modernization (ECC S/4HANA)
    • MES and QMS evolution in regulated manufacturing
    • CRM/digital transformation in commercial functions
    • Cloud adoption and modernization
  • Setarchitecture standards patterns and principlesto ensure security scalability and interoperability.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity to embedsecure-by-designpractices.

Strategy & Roadmaps

  • Shape theenterprise technology strategyaligned to business priorities.
  • Develop modernization roadmaps balancing reliability regulatory compliance and innovation.
  • Evaluateemerging technologies(AI automation analytics digital platforms) for practical business application.
  • Provide recommendations to CIO and IT leadership on investment choices.

Collaboration & Influence

  • Lead theEnterprise Architecture Community of Practice ensuring alignment across solution/domain architects.
  • Influence IT portfolios through governance standards and design reviews.
  • Partner with business leaders to ensure technology architectures directly support business goals.

Execution Support

  • Act asreview authorityfor major programs and solution designs.
  • Ensure applied architectures arepractical and deliver business value.
  • Coach architects and senior engineers building architecture maturity across IT.

Qualifications

  • 15 years of IT experience with 8 years in architecture leadership.
  • Deep expertise inenterprise platforms: SAP ECC/S4 MES QMS CRM (Salesforce) cloud (Azure AWS).
  • Strong knowledge ofintegration (APIs middleware) data architectures and security models.
  • Experience inmed tech life sciences or other regulated manufacturing industriesstrongly preferred.
  • Ability tolead through influence managing alignment without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and introduceemerging technologies (AI automation analytics)into enterprise environments.
  • Excellent communication skills able to simplify complex technical topics for executive stakeholders.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$206400.00 - $309600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience certification/education market conditions and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
