We are seeking a visionary Director Enterprise Data Platform to lead the development and execution of Fords enterprise data platform strategy. This role is critical in driving engineering excellence ensuring platform adoption and delivering scalable secure and efficient data solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in data engineering cloud platforms and product-centric thinking coupled with strong leadership and execution capabilities.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Define and drive the roadmap for Fords Enterprise Data Platform aligning with business and technology goals.

Platform Development & Adoption: Oversee the design development and deployment of scalable data platforms ensuring broad enterprise adoption.

Data Governance & Compliance: Implement best-in-class data governance security and privacy frameworks to ensure compliance with industry regulations.

AI/ML Enablement: Lead efforts to integrate AI-driven capabilities such as SQL-to-code conversion LLM-powered debugging and self-service ingestion frameworks.

Cloud & Multi-Cloud Strategy: Optimize data platform capabilities across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) AWS and on-prem environments ensuring high availability and cost efficiency.

Engineering & Operational Excellence: Establish best practices for data engineering DevSecOps reliability and platform observability.

Talent & Organization Building: Attract develop and mentor top talent in data engineering and platform development fostering a high-performance team culture.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with business units product teams and other technology leaders to ensure seamless data accessibility and usability across Ford.

Qualifications

15 years of experience in data engineering cloud platforms or enterprise-scale data management with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

Proven track record of delivering large-scale data platforms metadata catalogs data lakes data pipelines and streaming architectures.

Deep expertise in GCP (BigQuery Dataflow Pub/Sub) AWS or Azure and modern data stack technologies.

Experience in implementing data governance lineage classification and security policies at an enterprise level.

Strong understanding of AI/ML real-time analytics and observability platforms.

Exceptional leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to drive alignment influence stakeholders and lead diverse global teams.

Excellent communication and executive presence capable of engaging with senior leadership and business partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience leading data transformations in automotive manufacturing or financial services industries.

Prior hands-on experience in Apache Beam Spark Kafka Airflow DataHub Looker and Kubernetes.

Background in architecting self-service data platforms and API-first data access frameworks.

This role is ONSITE you will be required to commute to the office in Dearborn MI 4x a week.
