- Design and implement firmware features for high-performance embedded systems ensuring reliability performance and maintainability.
- Participate in code and test plan reviews
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware validation and software teams to define and refine firmware requirements.
- Debug and troubleshoot firmware issues using tools such as JTAG oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Contribute to unit and integration testing ensuring high test coverage and robustness.
- Support bring-up and validation of new hardware platforms and features.
- Document design decisions APIs and usage guidelines for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies especially in secure firmware and modern programming practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing
- Drive adoption of modern test automation practices (CI/CD Git Jenkins Ansible)
- Support simulator and tools development as part of a global team
- Plan schedule estimate efforts for projects and provide technical guidance to junior engineers during execution.
- Work on ARM based storage/Networking products design and develop firmware and software for Storage and networking products.
What Were Looking For
- B.S./M.S. (CS/EE) with 8 years of experience
- 5 years of programming experience in either C/C/Rust
- Strong working knowledge of Python
- Experience with Rust or other modern systems programming languages is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with secure firmware architectures such as Caliptra ( is a strong plus
- Ability to read and understand large embedded systems codebases
- Experience in test planning test case development scripting execution and reporting
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
- Good communication skills in English and Japanese
Preferred Skills - Experience in embedded systems
- Knowledge of SSD firmware architecture and NAND technology
- Experience testing NVMe & PCIe protocol-based products
- Experience with protocol analyzers and trace analysis
- Exposure to secure boot cryptographic primitives and hardware root of trust concepts
- Familiarity with secure firmware standards such as DICE SPDM or TCG specifications.
