Service Technician

The George E. Booth a family-owned and operated industrialautomation sales company looking to hire their next full-time ServiceTechnician for the Cincinnati OH area.

The George E. Booth Co. is a major distributor ofprocess instrumentation products and related services to customers in IllinoisIndiana Kentucky Ohio and Tennessee founded in 1963.

The ideal candidate will have experience servicing processcontrol instrumentation gas detection and valves. The candidate must bewilling to travel locally with overnight stays and on-callduty.

Responsibilities for the Service Technician

Ability to install troubleshoot repair and maintaininstrumentation products and analytical devices as well as gas detection andvalves.

Actively diagnose root cause of equipment problems and developpermanent solutions to repair.

Technical competency with process controls systems and familiaritywith a variety of applications is a must.

Capacity to read and interpret technical documentation andinterpret or prepare technical summary in both written and oral communication.

Capable of understanding the applications and products in allfacets of level pressure flow temperature and analytical.

Talent to transmit technical information in an instructionalmanner to customers and teammates both formally and informally. A level ofcomfort leading a classroom setting is preferred.

Skill to self-start and provide leads to sales of products linesand additional services in the field is desired.

Hand-to-eye coordination to actively work with hands hand toolscalibration and general testing equipment

Provide timely submission of mandatory reporting on field servicereports calibration certifications timesheets business expenses etc.

Basic computer skillset is a must willingness to learn newtechnical platforms is vital to success.

This position is active and can requirestanding walking bending kneeling stooping crouching crawling andclimbing.

Frequently is required to walk; use handsto finer detail handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.

Ability to carry loads up to 50lbs isrequired.

Conscious effort to maintain a safe andclean working environment is mandatory.

All other duties as assigned by Supervision.

Requirements for the Service Technician

Must be willing to travel with occasional overnights (up to 50% travel typically 1-6 hours outside of the Indianapolis area) andhave aclean driving record

Minimum 3 years related experience

Strong organizational and communication skills

Associate degree in technical field or equivalent workexperience

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Whileperforming the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed tomoving mechanical parts fumes or airborne particles toxic or causticchemicals and vibration. The noise level in work environment is usuallymoderate. The physical demands describedhere are representative of those that must be met by an employee tosuccessfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position may berequired to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time. Whileperforming the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talkand hear. This position is active and can require standing walking bendingkneeling stooping crouching crawling and climbing. The employee frequentlyis required to walk; use hands to finer handle or feel; reach with hands andarms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close visiondistance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and abilityto adjust focus.
