CIBCs Summer Internship Program is a dynamic 10-week experience (June through August) designed to complement your academic training and support your career aspirations. Centered around the core theme of Learn Connect Grow the program offers a comprehensive blend of opportunities to expand your skills and professional network.

As a Private Wealth Intern you will have exposure to the following lines of business:

  • Relationship Management: Develop client relationships understand investment strategies and macroeconomic trends deliver exceptional client service
  • Wealth Strategies/Financial Planning: Learn estate and financial planning philanthropic advisory and holistic wealth management
  • Business Development: Support sales initiatives build new business opportunities strengthen client and intermediary relationships
  • Private Banking: Explore banking solutions including loans and deposits

Learn through hands-on assignments structured training and exposure to both technical and analytical skill development.

Connect by networking across the bank engaging with employees and fellow interns and meeting with our executive leadership team.

Grow through mentorship leadership support and community outreach while developing both soft and hard skills essential for your future career.

Who You Are

  • 3.0 GPA minimum
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • To be eligible for this position you must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Pursuing a bachelors degree with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027

HOW YOULL SUCCEED

  • Collaborative team player with a keen attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word PowerPoint and Excel
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced client-focused environment

  • Currently a junior or senior pursuing a major in Business Administration Economics Finance or a related field
  • Outstanding communication skills

  • Forward-thinking and strategic approach to problem-solving
  • Conceptual thinking and ability to connect ideas to solutions

At CIBC we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected hourly rate of $25.00 per hour for the State of New York market based on experience qualifications and location of the position. CIBC offers a full range of benefits and programs to meet our interns needs; including 401(k) contribution Paid Time Off (including Sick Leave and Vacation) and Holidays in addition to other special perks reserved for our team members.
