As theGeneration Dispatcher Associate you will be responsible for the reliable operation of RWE Clean Energygeneration resources within the North America Bulk Electric System footprint. The team monitors the performance of each interconnected generator in real-time and exercises control when needed to ensure the operation of the asset is in accordance with NERC and regional (ERCOT PJM MISO NYISO SPP CAISO) compliance and market standards.
Role Responsibilities:
- Coordinate monitor and control the real-time operation of RWE Clean Energy generation resources from the 24/7 Remote Operations Center (ROC)
- Follow established Dispatch Desktop Procedures to meet Generator Operator obligations
- Receive and execute operating instructions from Site Personnel Balancing Authorities (BA) Transmission Operators (TOP) and Reliability Coordinators (RC)
- Log and submit forced outage tickets updating unit status in market portals and PCI
- Provide timely notifications of operational events to internal and external stakeholders
- Perform basic ad-hoc data reporting for operational performance analysis
- Support compliance with NERC and regional market standards through adherence to procedures and accurate documentation
- Work scheduled 12-hour shifts including nights weekends and holidays
Job Requirements and Experiences:
- A High School Diploma or GED is required
- A Bachelors degree from an accredited school may substitute for 2 years of work experience
- An Associates degree from an accredited school may substitute for 1 year of work experience
- A minimum of 3 years of work experience in a technical-related position
- PJM System Operator Certification is required for the job
- NERC System Operator Certification is optional
- Basic understanding of ROC operations market scheduling and NERC compliance requirements
- Familiar with outage ticketing and status updates in market portals
- Follows established Desktop Procedures for dispatch activities
- Resolves routine operational issues using established processes
- Escalates complex problems to senior staff
- Works closely with team members and immediate supervisor
- Communicates effectively with BA TOP and RC contacts as directed.
- Performs straightforward data reporting
Work Environment:
This position is an office-based role in Austin Texas. The employee must be able to sit walk or stand for long durations of time.
