New Grad API Automation QE

Position Description:

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto office at a minimum 2 days per week - subject to change at any time.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Define and implement automation strategies to improve efficiency reduce defects and accelerate delivery cycles.
Advocate for automation best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Automation Framework & Execution:
Design develop and maintain robust scalable and reusable automation frameworks for UI API and performance testing.
Collaborate with development teams to integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines.
Ensure automation coverage for functional regression and end-to-end testing.
Mentor and upskill team members on automation best practices tools and technologies.
Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards to ensure maintainability and reliability.
Encourage a culture of innovation and continuous learning.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

4 years of experience in Quality Engineering with 3 years focused on API testing and automation.
Hands-on experience with Parasoft SOA Test including test suite design test data management and reporting.
Design develop and maintain automated API test suites using Parasoft SOA and other automation frameworks.
Develop comprehensive test plans test cases and test scripts for REST and SOAP-based services.
Integrate API test automation within CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins Azure DevOps or similar).
Perform functional regression performance and security validation of APIs.
Collaborate with development and architecture teams to understand system design and identify test scenarios early in the lifecycle.
Implement service virtualization where required to test dependencies and third-party integrations.
Drive shift-left testing initiatives and ensure early API validation in the SDLC.
Analyze test results identify root causes and report defects with detailed documentation.
Ensure adherence to test automation standards frameworks and best practices.
Contribute to continuous improvement of automation frameworks and quality engineering processes.
