Job Summary

As a Collection and Delivery Driver for DPD youll be the face of our company and play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include:

Serving as the first point of contact for our customers providing exceptional service when collecting or delivering parcels
Starting your shift at the depot where youll be responsible for efficiently loading parcels onto your 3.5 tonne van
Following a daily delivery schedule and managing your route effectively to ensure timely collections and deliveries
Safely operating and maintaining the 3.5 tonne van adhering to all traffic laws and company policies
Accurately scanning and recording parcel information using handheld devices
Collecting signatures and other necessary proof of delivery from customers
Promptly reporting any delivery issues vehicle problems or customer concerns to your supervisor
Maintaining a clean and organised van conducting daily vehicle checks and reporting any maintenance needs
Adapting to changing weather conditions and adjusting your delivery approach accordingly
Collaborating with depot staff and other drivers to ensure smooth operations and efficient parcel sorting
Wearing the provided uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on duty

This role requires a strong commitment to customer service attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Your dedication to timely and accurate deliveries will be crucial in maintaining DPDs reputation for excellence in the logistics industry.

To be considered for the role you must have:

Held a full UK driving licence and had regular driving experience for 12 months or more

We are also looking for you to demonstrate that you:

Recognise the value of providing great customer service
Can work to deadlines are flexible and always go above and beyond
Are friendly approachable positive resourceful and professional
Are able to multi-task and problem solve
Have the ability to lift load and carry parcels weighing up to 30kg
Possess excellent time management and organisational skills
Have a good level of physical fitness to meet the demands of the role
Can work independently and as part of a team
Have basic computer skills and the ability to use handheld devices
Are comfortable working in various weather conditions
Have a good knowledge of local roads and geography
