Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Fellow (Grade 1 or 2) to join our collaborative and multidisciplinary team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful research projects focused on identifying biomarkers and understanding the physiological mechanisms underlying ME/CFS Long COVID and GWI.

As a member of the NCNED team you will work closely with the Centre Director team leaders and students and play a key role in the design implementation and dissemination of research findings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to research projects through experiment design data collection analysis and interpretation.
  • Prepare research publications reports and presentations.
  • Assist with grant applications and funding proposals.
  • Supervise and support junior researchers and students.
  • Actively contribute to the academic life of the NCNED and broader Griffith Health community.
  • Participate in sample collection including offsite visits.
  • Ensure compliance with university policies ethical research practices and workplace health and safety standards.

This is a fixed term (2 years) full time position primarily based at Gold Coast. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations. Griffith Universitys campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul Yuggera Jagera Turrbal Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary for a Research Fellow (Grade 1) is in the range $88689 - $103888 per annum plus 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $103767 - $121549 per annum.

The full time equivalent base salary for a Research Fellow (Grade 2) is in the range $113226 - $134460 per annum 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $132474 - $157318 per annum.


Qualifications :

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A PhD in immunology cell biology or molecular genetics.
  • Certified phlebotomist or a willingness to complete training to gain these skills.
  • Experience in advanced flow cytometry immune subset isolation cell culture molecular biology and patch-clamp techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based research environment.
