The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing a team of inspection technicians who perform routine inspections testing and preventive maintenance on a wide range of life safety systems including fire alarms sprinkler systems kitchen hood suppression systems fire extinguishers and special hazard systems. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of NFPA codes and fire protection standards as well as strong leadership organization and customer service skills. The manager ensures operational efficiency compliance safety and client satisfaction while driving continuous improvement across the inspection division.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead schedule and supervise inspection technicians to ensure timely completion of all inspection projects and contract obligations.
- Oversee day-to-day inspection operations including workload distribution scheduling customer coordination and resource planning.
- Conduct performance evaluations recommend promotions or training opportunities and mentor inspection staff to enhance skill development.
- Coordinate with service dispatchers and project coordinators to ensure inspections are scheduled efficiently and completed within established timelines.
- Review inspection reports and ensure that all deficiencies are accurately documented tracked and communicated in accordance with company procedures.
- Monitor project completion billing readiness and proper closeout documentation.
- Ensure all company vehicles tools and equipment are maintained in a professional safe and serviceable condition.
- Ensure inspection activities comply with applicable codes and standards (NFPA IBC IFC local AHJ requirements).
- Conduct quality audits of inspection work to verify technical accuracy documentation completeness and compliance.
- Provide technical expertise to inspectors trainees and clients interpreting blueprints submittals and system documentation.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure proper coding and customer sign-offs for all inspection-related service requests.
- Promote a culture of safety and accountability; ensure adherence to all company and OSHA safety policies.
- Facilitate safety meetings toolbox talks and ensure timely submission of required forms (JSAs incident reports etc.).
- Provide ongoing training on system inspection procedures safety compliance and code updates.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers contractors and AHJs through proactive communication and professionalism.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and ensure high levels of satisfaction throughout the inspection process.
- Support business growth through identifying opportunities for contract renewals upgrades and additional services.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in a technical field (electronics mechanical or fire protection) or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fire protection or life safety inspection with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong working knowledge of NFPA standards and fire protection systems including fire alarms sprinklers extinguishers kitchen hoods and suppression systems.
- Excellent communication organizational and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inspection management software.
- Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred
- NICET Level II or III certification
- Texas licensing preferred: Fire Alarm License Extinguisher License Class B or higher and/or TCEQ Backflow (BPAT).
- Experience with reading and interpreting blueprints system drawings and product manuals.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects deadlines and priorities effectively.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and coaching abilities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Regular bending climbing reaching walking and working at various site locations.
- Ability to work in both office and field environments as needed.
