Job Summary
1. Collect segregate inventory and prepare for disposal the hazardous waste collected on campus.
2. Prepare periodic reports inventory reports inspection reports and general correspondence.
3. Perform weekly compost monitoring at the ISU Farm.
4. Certify chemical fume hoods by checking face velocities annually.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Rate
$15.00/hour
Preferred Qualifications
1. Knowledge of chemical reactions incompatibilities and properties not required but extremely useful.
2. Prefer candidate in a Safety Environmental Health or Chemistry major.
Work Hours
Office hours are 8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday. Specific schedule to be determined based on availability.
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
Remain at a workstation for extended periods.
Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work.
Effectively communicate on a daily basis.

This position is subject to a criminal background investigation and if applicable an employment history review based on University Policy 3.1.30 and any offer of employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation and/or an employment history review. Illinois State University student employees are restricted to no more than 28 hours per week of on-campus employment for all positions held.
