Job Summary
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the fit-up and welding of components with stainless steel content
- Operate gas torch plasma torch grinders jib hoist and overhead crane
- Maintain a clean safe workplace
- Participate in a job rotation program specified by management in order to maintain skill levels with respect to welding technique and product knowledge.
- Confined Space Certification is required and training will be offered by the company.
- Must submit for medical surveillance according to Vactors Hexavalent Chromium Program.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Minimum of 2 years of welding or industrial experience with strong mechanical aptitude (preferred).
- Able to operate all machines and tools in the department
- Able to read blueprints tape measures diagrams work orders and work instructions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- Ability to work in prolonged postures (bending stooping kneeling walking standing and squatting) while performing all job tasks.
- Able to pass a weld test(s).
- Able to weld mild steel as well as stainless steel using the GMAW (MIG) process.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must have good knowledge of weld symbols processes and procedures.
- Must be able to use jigs and fixtures to produce weldments.
EDUCATION REQUIRED: High school grad or equivalent
