About the department:

BYD is market leader across all ranges - passenger cars trucks buses and warehousing equipment.

The R&D department plans the sustainable product and technology road map for Europe and works on developing advanced full electric vehicles series which fulfill current and future European private transportation market needs. By cooperating with European leading suppliers the R&D department continuously upgrades design and engineering abilities for excellent product performance and quality.

As R&D Engineer you will do research analysis and evaluation of E-mobility products user experience and usability of both passenger cars and commercial vehicles. You will use these research insights for the product development and iteration working closely together with product design and engineering teams.

Your main responsibility is:

• Responsible for designing test plans and annual testing schedules for body and chassis products;
• Execute testing tasks prepare reports and communicate with clients;
• Independently conduct product installation debugging and bench testing;
• Identify and analyze test issues drive risk assessment and improvements;
• Contribute to lab system development and continuous improvement of testing standards.

Your personal information:

• Bachelors degree or above in Mechanical Engineering Vehicle Engineering or Mechanics;
• Solid foundation in mechanical performance structural and durability principles;
• Familiar with common test equipment data acquisition systems and engineering software;
• Basic understanding of vehicle structure and fundamentals;
• Good English communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills;
• Laboratory or project experience is a plus.
