We are looking for a nuanced communicator strategic thinker and relationship-builder with sound judgment; a solid grounding in content strategies for social and digital media; and a proven track record of stewarding communications partnerships with corporate and institutional partners in the international nonprofit sector.

About this role
The Communications Manager will work closely with our Director of Communications at CAMFED International and the communications digital marketing and development teams across multiple continents and time zones. You will help to refine and deliver our content and communications plans for the year maintaining strong relationships across teams.
Key Responsibilities
Communications content contribution & oversight (25%)
Provide communications support for key events campaigns and media engagement opportunities
Collaborate across departments to identify stories data and voices that can be amplified externally
Develop written content for CAMFEDs website
Feed back on the execution of projects including long and short form video
Ensure the content you are responsible for across digital social and traditional media is aligned with organizational brand guidelines including values voice and tone-centered on equity dignity and the agency of girls and women
Act as a sounding board for colleagues and support them to prioritize and strategically apply content across channels platforms and partnerships
Support guidance for team members around communications best practices when needed
Partner Communications (50%)
Co-develop communications plans for key partnerships with Development and Executive Team colleagues and support the delivery of rich and tailored content
Collaborate with communications and development team colleagues to translate program impact into high-quality narrative-rich content
Provide day-to-day partnership support making the most of resources and supporting efficient and cost-effective operations
Ensure that communications supporting and uplifting our donor partnerships align with CAMFEDs brand voice core values donor expectations and partnership agreements
Support content for donor solicitation as needed
Social media & digital oversight (25%)
Provide strategic oversight and editorial review of social media content for CAMFEDs and partner platforms to ensure alignment with our organizational values and mission
Manage the content calendar in collaboration with team members and external content creators ensuring consistency relevance and that other teams are consulted and their priorities are considered
Support in analyzing social data and reporting back on key campaigns and partnerships
Support in monitoring social media channels including flagging key partner events or collaborations and inbox issue escalation
Essential
A desire to be part of a fast-growing and dynamic movement dedicated to tackling some of the worlds greatest challenges including poverty social injustice gender inequality and climate change
Excellent interpersonal skills and strategic thinking abilities with the ability to engage with colleagues at all levels and across cultures and geographies
Excellent writing editing and storytelling skills with a strong commitment to ethical storytelling particularly in the context of working with underrepresented communities
Ability to tailor content to different audiences and platforms including institutional corporate and public audiences
Strong background in social media strategy and oversight ideally for an organization working in education gender equity or international development
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced mission-focused environment
Sound judgment with a solid understanding of risk and reputation management
Familiarity with social media scheduling tools (e.g. Sprout Social)
Skills collaborating in Google Workspace and knowledge of Salesforce CRM and design tools (e.g. Canva Adobe Suite) are a plus.
