Senior Terraform / GCP Infrastructure & Data Engineer
Location: Nashville TN (Onsite Remote work not available)
Position Overview
The Senior Terraform / GCP Infrastructure & Data Engineer will play a key leadership role in designing architecting and implementing cloud data infrastructure on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform (HCL) to automate provisioning and management of enterprise-level services such as networking compute storage security and databases.
This role requires a strategic thinker capable of providing architectural oversight aligning with enterprise IT goals and driving technical excellence across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect design and implement scalable cloud infrastructure solutions on GCP.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for automated provisioning and configuration.
- Build and maintain mission-critical systems including networking security compute storage and databases.
- Ensure all solutions adhere to enterprise security compliance and governance standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data security DevOps and application teams) to ensure architectural alignment.
- Provide technical leadership code reviews and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost efficiency performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and deployment issues.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience designing and implementing GCP-based infrastructure at an enterprise level.
- Strong proficiency in Terraform (HCL) and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
- Deep understanding of GCP services including Compute Engine Cloud Storage Cloud SQL VPC IAM and networking.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines Cloud Build or equivalent tools.
- Knowledge of data infrastructure security best practices and monitoring frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to lead complex technical projects with minimal supervision.
