Job Summary

Position: Senior Instrumentation Engineer – Offshore Brownfield (Oil & Gas)

Roles & Responsibilities

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation or Electronics Engineering.

• Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience including at least 3 years in brownfield construction and

commissioning projects in the oil & gas sector.

• Strong background in detailed design and engineering of DCS ESD PLC F&G SCADA systems and

field instrumentation.

• Proficient in interpreting and developing instrumentation documentation including drawings datasheets

specifications MTOs test reports and installation details.

• Solid understanding of international instrumentation standards such as IEC ISA IEEE NEC API

ATEX etc.

Design & Engineering Responsibilities:

Develop and review instrumentation deliverables including:

o Instrument Location Layouts

o Cable Routing & Trench Layouts

o Junction Box & Control Room Layouts

o F&G System Layouts

o Hook-Up Drawings

o Instrument Index I/O List Wiring Diagrams Loop Diagrams and Cause & Effect Matrices.

• Prepare and review Instrument Datasheets in accordance with project requirements.

• Select appropriate field instruments control valves analyzers and bulk materials based on system design

and process requirements.

• Perform technical bid evaluations (TBE) and vendor document reviews for instrumentation packages.

• Carry out cable sizing and selection based on system design parameters.

Construction Support:

Review IFC drawings vendor documents and construction method statements for constructability and

compliance.

• Provide field engineering support during installation of trays cable routing terminations junction boxes

lighting grounding systems and instrument hook-ups.

• Ensure adherence to project safety standards QA/QC requirements and applicable international codes.

• Interface with structural mechanical and piping disciplines to manage interdisciplinary coordination in

brownfield environments.

Brownfield Project Responsibilities:

Conduct site surveys to assess existing installations and determine optimal tie-in points for new systems.

• Evaluate and support the development of shutdown work packs to ensure feasibility and execution within

restricted shutdown windows.

• Identify and resolve site clashes by proposing effective field engineering solutions.

• Ensure all modifications align with hazardous area classification and safety requirements.

Technical Proficiency:

Competent in AutoCAD for development of various instrumentation drawings and layouts.

• Familiar with the selection sizing and calibration of instrumentation related to flow measurement (e.g.

orifice plates nozzles venturi tubes vortex turbine meters) in accordance with ISO standards and

manufacturer guidelines.

• Sound knowledge of instrument safety classifications and hazardous area requirements.

Commissioning & Testing:

Extensive experience in installation testing inspection pre-commissioning and commissioning of

instrumentation systems including:

o DCS ESD PLC F&G Systems

o SCADA Analyzers and associated instrumentation infrastructure.

• Provide technical leadership during commissioning phases to ensure system integrity and operational

readiness.
