The Teaching Assistant will work with the faculty and students performing teaching or teaching-related duties that includes:
Supporting students during laboratory / workshop activities and homework assignments
Developing teaching materials
Reinforce lessons presented by teachers by reviewing material with students one-on-one or in small groups
Supporting delivery of online lessons and development of materials for the CANVAS virtual learning platform
Prepare materials and equipment for laboratory and studio sessions
Success in this role will improve students problem-solving skills and develop their programming expertise to excel in their future careers.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Prepare teaching materials and organise workshop spaces in preparation for classes
Develop in-class activities
Support students in understanding their class assignments and assessments
Assist the lecturer with workshop sessions and supervise open access in workshops and labs
Provide more detail on material covered in-class to support students understanding
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
1. Bachelors Degree in relevant discipline
2. Ability to explain a complex problem in terms that are easy to understand and comprehend.
3. Strong communication skills.
4. Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing environment and situations
ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT
English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role the minimum requirement is IELTS 7.0 (academic with no skill less than 6.5) (or equivalent as outlined in the Recruitment Selection and Onboarding Guidelines).
For any role English Language Proficiency may also be proven by showing successful completion of secondary education to a level qualifying to enter university study while being instructed through the medium of English as per the RMIT University recognised qualification list.
