An opportunity has arisen for a well-organised and resilient individual to join the Children and Family Services as a Social Work Business Support Assistant.
This role is part of the wider Business Support Service and as such an important part of this role is to provide back up to colleagues across locality areas and to assist in handling urgent work on a day-to-day basis.

Main duties and responsibilities:
To work as part of a team in the provision of all administrative technical work within the support service areas. To undertake general office duties e.g. post and file management (paper and electronic) photocopying maintenance of office equipment research collating and disseminating identified materials.
To answer enquiries by telephone or in person from members of the public service users or other employees and make routine calls to obtain information/resolve queries to take and relay messages and institute any associated action to receive visitors respond to and screen telephone calls emails and other enquires to provide a high level of customer care.
To monitor generic inboxes to ensure that they are appropriately managed and information recorded/tracked/progressed and prioritised as appropriate.
To assist in arranging meetings training events and daily strategy meetings involving the preparation and circulation of multi-agency invitations agendas and other materials typing up minutes from recorded meetings and the booking of venues and catering arrangements.
To process (open stamp distribute) incoming/outgoing post to ensure secure despatch of correspondence and that appropriate action is undertaken to record track progress and prioritise.
Under instruction to accurately maintain a range of computer-based systems to support requirements of service to support effective communication reporting performance to collect and collate record statistical information as required to input information onto computer databases and extract information as instructed which may require some manipulation.
To carry out routine cash handling duties including receiving and recording payment for service users issuing receipts and preparation for banking check petty cash balances etc.
