We are actively recruiting a Small Business Credit Analyston behalf of our Sacramento-based client in the financial services sector. This mid-level opportunity is ideal for professionals with proven judgmental underwriting experience and a strong commitment to supporting small business growth through responsible lending this role you will be instrumental in evaluating and decisioning small business loan applications. Leveraging your regulatory knowledge analytical skills and sound judgment youll help ensure credit decisions align with policy standards while delivering a positive member experience. This position also offers opportunities to mentor junior analysts drive process improvements and collaborate across departments.

Salary is $43.55 per hour for a six-month assignment which will be remote. (TuesFri 8a-5p Sat: 10a-3p Remote )


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and decision small business credit applications by applying underwriting knowledge to approve counter or deny while ensuring accuracy compliance and fraud prevention.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable laws regulations and internal credit union policies.
  • Oversee interactions during the application process and address inquiries complaints or concerns from members staff and business partners.
  • Conduct audits analyze data prepare reports and validate lending system upgrades to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Train staff on lending procedures mentor junior analysts and assist with presentations campaigns and updates to lending materials.
  • Act as team lead when needed offer performance feedback and support additional lending-related tasks as assigned.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completed high school and associate degree; equivalent work experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Over five years of experience in small business lending with judgment-based decision-making using loan origination systems.
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills including financial calculations document review and credit evaluation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to support member relationships and collaborate with originators.
  • Deep knowledge of underwriting practices lending policies market conditions and regulatory trends affecting loan quality.
  • Proficient in automated lending systems Microsoft applications and time management in a fast-paced production-driven environment.
