We work with children adults and their families providing a holistic approach to hearing services for newborns through to people over 90 years old and helping children who are blind or have low vision to develop the right skills mobility and independence to confidently explore their world.
NextSense has been breaking boundaries since 1860 and weve been expanding our services ever since. Today we deliver world-class education (both to children with sensory loss and to professionals in the field) cochlear implants allied health services therapy research and clinical services to children and adults. We are currently creating a world-leading centre for innovation on-site at Macquarie University that represents a new era for hearing and vision loss. This nationally significant social infrastructure project will be a place to nurture trial and share new ideas and form new partnerships that will drive better outcomes for people who are deaf hard of hearing blind or have low vision.
DescriptionThe Role
NextSense has an exciting opportunity for an Audiologist to join our team in Darwin. This is a Permanent Part-time arrangement working 3 days per week and the role will report directly to theTeam Lead.
Youll make a difference in this role by:
- providingevidence-based assessment intervention supports and other strategies to assist clients in achievingoutcomes
- using a person/family centred framework when providing services
- participating in and providing clinical supervision to other team members
- conducting comprehensive paediatric diagnostic assessments including hearing evaluations for infants and children differential diagnosis of hearing loss and collaborative case management with families and multidisciplinary teams
- performing and interpreting behavioural and electrophysiological assessmentsto accurately identify hearing status and auditory function across the paediatric population

Skills And ExperiencesTo be successful in this role youll need to demonstrate you meet the following selection criteria.
Essential:
- Masters of Audiologyor equivalent
- Practicing member of Audiology Australia
- Capacity andwillingness to obtain a Medicare provider number to undertake the role
- Demonstrates sound clinical skills and knowledge
- Experience in audiological assessment including speech perception testing
- Works collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Working With Children Check
- NDIS Worker Check
Desirable:
- Paediatric and adult audiological experience
- A workingknowledge of electrophysiological tests
- Willing to learn new systems processes and frameworks
- Experience working with clients who have implantable hearing devices
