IMEG is growing and wed love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Construction Field Technician 1 in our Hardin MT office. As a Construction Field Technician you will be responsible for performing routine tasks as directed by the Construction Manager. As a first level trainee work is checked by others in process and upon completion. The Construction Project Manager may assign the technician to a construction project to serve as a construction observer to make field measurements documentation entries and read & interpret plans.

Principal Responsibilities

Basic field inspection testing and documentation
Duties may also include on site or laboratory testing of soils concrete and hot mix asphalt
Attend training to achieve various certifications
Operate company vehicles
Maintain equipment and vehicles
Observe safety and security procedures

Required Skills/Abilities

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers clients and other employees of the organization
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals
Ability to read a tape measure in both fractions and tenths
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form
Must be able to work as part of a team
Must always maintain professional conduct
Valid drivers license required with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier
Advanced/Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word Excel and Outlook
Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays

Education and Experience

Associates degree or certificate in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred
Prior experience in the building design consulting or construction industry preferred

Physical Requirements

Regularly required to sit walk stand talk see hear and lift objects up to 25 pounds
Occasionally required to drive kneel stoop crouch crawl reach with hands or arms and grasp or pull
Will be exposed to outside weather conditions and loud noises
