Primary Purpose: Under general supervision provide facility and security monitoring for students and staff on campus and vehicles in parking lot.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to record information
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to work effectively with middle school and high school students and staff members
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to operate campus CCTV monitoring system
Experience:
One year experience in public schools or security operations
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Student Management
- Monitor student behavior and enforce school rules related to student conduct vehicle operation and parking.
- Report conflict or confrontation between students to appropriate administrator.
- Report disturbances to principal or assistant principal.
- Monitor parking on campus grounds.
Security and Parking
- Work cooperatively with office personnel to inform students of problems with vehicles (i.e. improperly parked lights on etc.).
- Assist law enforcement personnel as needed.
- Notify police fire department or other appropriate authority of any situation requiring immediate attention.
- Give directions or act as a guide to authorized visitors.
Communication
- Maintain continuous communications contact with campus administrators.
- Monitor security systems to detect emergencies such as fires and illegal entry. Be able to notify proper authority for intrusion or trespass fire alarms and emergencies.
- Coordinate with other agencies or departments to obtain additional help as needed.
- Relay information and messages to and from departments emergency response agencies and to all others requiring notification.
- Notify maintenance personnel of maintenance concerns and after-hours temperature and systems alarms.
- Monitor high traffic areas during high volume times (i.e. parking lots portable buildings hallways etc.).
Reports/Records
- Record details of incident reports calls dispatches and messages.
- Maintain all required physical and computerized files.

Communication equipment multi-line telephone system computer CCTV equipment intercom system pager copier and shredder.

Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; occasional districtwide travel
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
