Scope of Position:

The Production Superintendent is a member of the Plant Leadership team reporting directly to the Production Manager. The Production Superintendent will work with Production Supervisors to ensure the smooth operation of the Plant on a daily basis.

The leader will also ensure employee safety product safety quality and compliance to plant standards.

Responsibilities:

• Must have good communication interpersonal skills and maintain a good working relationship with plant management plant employees corporate and USDA/FSIS.
• Ensure food safety & quality as it relates to the plant.
• Responsible for plant schedule attainment as it relates to the production and shipment of finished goods.
• Monitor and analyze labor to improve efficiency.
• Develop Supervisors and Leads for the production team.
• The Superintendent will oversee Shipping Receiving Production and Injection and Curing on second shift.

Skills andQualifications:

Education:

• College Degree preferred not required

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years background experience in a packing plant with knowledge of all areas.
• Minimum 2 years supervising employees in a food safe environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversee a team of Supervisors

Skills/Proficiencies:

• Strong proficiency with personal computer software with knowledge of word processing spreadsheet and multiple applications required.
• A through understanding of lean manufacturing principles and leadership applications within a manufacturing environment.
• Detail oriented and strong analytical skills
• Highly organized
• Ability to read production reports
• Knowledge of all operations within the plant
• Management training
• Outstanding communication skills in order to lead engage and motivate individuals and/or teams.
• English/Spanish bilingual desired but not required

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

• Frequently required to stand walk use hands and fingers to handle/feel items reach with hands and arms stoop kneel crouch crawl and talk or hear.
• Office and plant setting: the plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related) extreme cold (non-weather related) and working near moving mechanical parts.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.
