Job Description:

The Salvation Army is looking for a team player flexible self-starter personable individual who wants to make a positive impact in their community. If you enjoy driving in the city of Victoria meeting people to provide delivery and pick up services for Victorias Christmas donations mainly toys and food then you should join our team as a Christmas Pickup & Delivery Driver for 3 ministry units in Victoria CRD.

Accountabilities:

Incumbent may perform all some or similar range of duties as below:

Work with all three Salvation Army ministry locations Connection Point Church & Resource Centre High Point Community Church and Victoria Citadel & Next Steps Resource Centre providing for their specific donation requirements or other needs they have for the truck & driver.

To coordinate your work week between the three ministry units

Engage with donors giving thanks and providing information on how The Salvation Army assists for Christmas and throughout the year.

Safely collect and deliver donations from designated locations back to all three units or the one that is specified. If needed help with sorting toys & food donations for sharing between the ministry units.

Perform other duties as assigned.

CRITICAL RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

Governance Boards and Councils: n/a

Internal: TSA staff members Kettle campaign team

External: Community members

MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITY:

Reports directly to Corps Officer.

Direct reports: n/a. Workflow coordinator for Christmas Kettle Workers.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This is a temporary position.

Shifts may include days afternoons evenings weekend shifts and split shifts Monday through Saturday. Applicable shifts include a ½ hour unpaid meal break.

Flexibility in scheduling is required as the hours may increase as per operational requirements.

Standing for long periods will be required and exposure to cold weather

Required to wear appropriate Salvation Army identification.

Local travel is associated with this position.

The above responsibilities must be performed in keeping with The Salvation Armys Mission Vision and Values in a professional manner upholding our code of conduct.

Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements:

Class 4 Drivers License

Skills and Capabilities:

High accountability in the care pick up and distribution of donations

Ability to work independently & as part of a team

Positive & friendly working attitude

Can lift objects up to 25lbs familiar with using a dolly & trolley carts for multiple or heavier items

Interest in working both inside and outdoors

Positively represent The Salvation Army and reflect its mission and core values.

Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army in its sole discretion (i.e. The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check screening.

Compensation:

The target hiring range for this position is $17.85 to $21.66 with a maximum of $25.99.

Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions internal equity and candidate experience skills and qualifications relevant to the role.
