Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY:
Mitsubishi Electric US Inc. (MEUS) is one of six subsidiaries owned by Mitsubishi Electric US Holdings Inc. (MEUH) a holding company. MEUS comprises five distinct business units and also serves as the U.S. corporate office supporting coordination among MEUHs affiliated entities.
The Accounting Manager is primarily responsible for managing the financial activities of the Semiconductor & Device Division (SDD) one of MEUSs core business units. This includes overseeing full-cycle accounting budget control financial analysis and providing strategic financial guidance to division leadership.
In addition the role supports the maintenance and monthly close of MEUHs standalone financial books.
The Accounting Manager also supports MEUSs corporate work such as semi-annual business plan consolidation activities internal control testing and coordination approval of weekly payment runs etc.
The essential functions of the position include but are not limited to the following:
SDD:
- Responsible for performing full-cycle accounting for the SDD division with a broad scope of financial responsibilities ranging from business planning to routine accounting operations.
- Manage the divisions general ledger account reconciliations and financial systems.
- Coordinate with accounts payable accounts receivable and credit teams to support SDD operations and cash flow management.
- Prepare and analyze financial and budgetary reports to the SDD leadership including variance analysis and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with SDD management on semi-annual business planning.
- Support external and internal audits ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.
MEUH:
- Responsible for standalone MEUH monthly accounting book close and reporting the results via Consolidation System.
Corporate:
- Approve weekly payment runs.
- Support the EVP Controller in managing the semi-annual MEUS company-level planning process including the preparation distribution coordination and compilation of planning forms submitted by business unit accounting managers ensuring timely and accurate completion of various reports required by both MEUS and MELCO the ultimate parent company.
- Assist with corporate-level internal audit testing and J-SOX compliance activities.
- Prepare and file government surveys.
- Perform other job functions or special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent experience required.
- 7-10 years progressive accounting experience.
- MBA Master in Accountancy or CPA is a plus.
- Advanced excel spreadsheet skills required.
- Hands-on experience with SAP is a plus.
- Detail oriented
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $111200 and $152900/year; however base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location job-related knowledge skills and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements including commissions based on achieving individual performance and/or sales metrics incentive compensation and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
