The Opportunity:
As an Early Childhood Specialist 3 you will be the lead classroom teacher responsible for directs all daily operations in a developmentally appropriate classroom (infant toddler preschool or school age). In this role you will plan implement and evaluate curriculum activities for children; as well as manage classroom tasks such as meals bathroom/diapers naps and physical care. you will communicate effectively with children parents and staff and model appropriate nurturing and communication skills with children. You will maintain a safe healthy environment complete child assessments and conduct parent conferences. Additionally you will direct Early Childhood Specialist 2 student staff and volunteers maintain licensing and accreditation standards evaluate student staff and actively contribute as a positive team member with all center staff. You will also be responsible for completing required paperwork to support classroom operations.

This is a full time (100% FTE) permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $4320 - $5812 Range 48 Steps A - M Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience education skills and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
Forty-five college quarter hours in early childhood development/education/special education or equivalent OR a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) and two years experience working in a group setting with children of the ages enrolled in the program; OR equivalent education/experience.
Background clearance and fingerprinting ( Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF) Portable Background Check) completed before hire.
Negative results of Tuberculosis (TB) Skin Test upon hire.
HIV-Aids Bloodborne Pathogen Training upon hire.
Basic First Aid/ CPR/ Infant Child CPR upon hire.
Child Care Basics
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Early Childhood or Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education. Demonstrated excellent communication skills with parents children colleagues.
Demonstrated flexibility in dealing with frequent changes and/or crises.
Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices with young children.
Proven leadership skills.
Strong knowledge of curriculum development and assessments for children birth twelve years. Demonstrated successful team work with others.
