The Air Launched Effectors (ALE) Design Department which is part of the Mechanical Engineering (ME) Directorate is looking for a section manager to lead the AMRAAM mechanical engineering team. This organization is responsible for the design and development across the product life cycle from concept to resolution of production technical issues with accountability to deliver performance to the end customer.

What You Will Do

• Maintain a close teaming and collaborative relationship across all pillars within a program area Engineering Office of Chief Engineer Operations Supply Chain and Quality organizations.

• Provide accountability and responsibility for establishing implementing and adhering to centralized Raytheon processes and procedures across the section.

• Provide effective technical guidance and development coaching training hiring and leadership to subordinates for effective execution of talent management and program requirements.

• Goals setting and active monitoring of accomplishments to those goals for section members.

• Provide frontline management activities and leadership for approximately 10 - 15 engineers supporting design production and over all integrity of products and related technical data package across all program phases for our Raytheon products.

• Understand staffing needs for the program and provide inputs for manpower collaborating with functional management.

• Apply design process and technical rigor to resolving technical issues across product life cycle.

• Provide technical oversight to subcontractors relative to technical data package.

• Ensure technical rigor and depth of all deliverables.

• Daily management of the section personnel including securing work assignments for the Section and ensuring the Section completes assignments efficiently and effectively.

• Leveraging the network to identify opportunities engage in proposals assess scope and determine proper section engagement.

• Representation of the Section within the directorate and communication of key business-related information to Section members and Functional leaders. Leadership of process innovation initiatives related to design documentation and validation helping the directorate and department meet annual goals. Communication of successes and critical issues from the group up through functional management.

The Sect Lead AMRAAM Mech Eng ALE job is in Tucson AZ and the position is onsite.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a Bachelor in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant absence of a degree 12 years of experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience

• Experience in working across multiple DoD programs or initiatives.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• 5 years experience leading technical teams.

• Interpersonal and broad leadership skills to foster teamwork and business growth.

• Experience in line management of engineering teams driving performance. managing through change and exhibition of influential leadership.

• Prior business development experience.

• Proven record of independent decision making; able to operate remotely from business headquarters and make accountable appropriate executive decisions.

• Ability to lead collaboration and teamwork with both Raytheon supplier and customer executives.

• Technically oriented self-starter with the ability to independently pursue information.

• Working knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)/ Sarbanes-Oxley Estimate to Complete (EAC).

• Experience preparing both technical and cost proposals the ability to critically review proposals conduct technical presentations and acquire relevant engineering and functional approvals

The salary range for this role is 101000 USD - 203000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
