Clinical Resource Nurse

Reports on a daily basis to the Patient Care Manager while facilitating both the learning and staffing needs of the nursing -ordinates the daily activity and assists in patient population decision making of the unit/area. Accepts and completes special projects as assigned. Monitors the unit/area supplies in conjunction with the Patient Care -ordinates and monitors the continuous Quality Management activities of the unit/area.  In addition to CRN duties this position is also responsible for overseeing the RAIs and Ontario Mental Health Reporting System processes(0.4 fte).  This portion of the position is responsibile for developing and maintaining processes to ensure the complete and accurate capture of the RAI-OMHRS data in compliance with program organizational and Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) Standards.

• Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Evidence of commitment to continuing education. BScN preferred or in progress.
• Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire
• CNA CPMHN certification preferred
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience as a CRN in Mental Health
• Prior experience with RAI completion submission and data quality
• knowledge/training in adult education and demonstrated skill in teaching 
• Respond positively to stress understand the impact of change and demonstrates an ability to manage change
• Demonstrated conflict resolution skills.
• Proven ability to work as a team member with peers Program Leaders Patient Care Managers Professional Practice Clinician Physicians and other multidisciplinary professionals.
• Ability to co-ordinate activities within all areas of the program (e.g. researching introducing and implementing a new standard of care)
• Evidence of commitment to continuing education.
• Satisfactory employment and attendance record.

We require a person with good communication skills with a clear patient focus with the ability to manage execution and to foster teamwork and cooperation.

Hours: Monday to Sunday 12 hour shifts 0730-1930 (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)

Salary: $44.55 to $61.95 per hour
