Job Summary
ALTEN UK is a leading engineering and technology consultancy partnering with major organisations across the Defence Energy Aerospace and Nuclear sectors. Were looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a cutting-edge development programme within the nuclear energy domain.
This role sits within a Mechanical Development & Prototyping (MDP) team focusing on the design testing and validation of mechanical systems and test rigs supporting the development of next-generation energy technologies.
What youll be doing
- Designing and supporting test rigs and mechanical development systems.
- Conducting mechanical testing validation and verification activities.
- Writing test plans test cases and technical reports.
- Applying design for manufacturability tolerancing and modularisation principles.
- De-risking mechanical concepts through hands-on testing and analysis.
- Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary development teams.
Qualifications :
What were looking for
- 610 years experience as a Mechanical Design or Development Engineer.
- Background in a regulated industry Nuclear (ideal) Defence Aerospace or Energy.
- Understanding of systems design and engineering methods.
- Strong technical reporting and documentation skills.
- Familiarity with test rig processes and mechanical validation.
