We are seeking an experienced Design Manager specializing in municipal water and wastewater systems to join our dynamic and growing multi-disciplinary Infrastructure team in Ontario. This role emphasizes the technical delivery of detailed designs for water and wastewater sewerage system force main design tunnelling operation and distribution systems. As Design Manager you will bring strong communication skills collaborative leadership and a passion for high-quality engineering solutions.
You will have the opportunity to participate in our hybrid work model offering flexible work hours and a combination of remote work and in-office collaboration in Mississauga or Kitchener.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the technical design delivery of municipal infrastructure water and wastewater conveyance projects through all project phases from concept to construction and commissioning.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams including process structural electrical building mechanical and architectural experts to ensure cohesive and technically sound designs.
- Lead the civil engineering discipline on multi-disciplinary projects
- Provide technical direction and quality oversight on design deliverables such as drawings calculations reports specifications and cost estimates.
- Monitor and manage design schedules technical scopes and quality control processes to meet internal and client expectations.
- Serve as the technical point of contact for clients regulatory agencies and stakeholders throughout the design and implementation process.
- Manage mentor and guide intermediate and junior team members to strengthen design knowledge and professional growth.
- Collaborate with project managers to support the successful execution of project budgets schedules and client communications.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (.) in Ontario.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in the process design and delivery of municipal infrastructure water and wastewater conveyance projects.
- Proven expertise in the detailed design and construction package and working with design and construction team throughout the project duration.
- Experience working with municipal clients in Ontario especially in the GTA or Southwestern Ontario.
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills including the ability to explain complex engineering concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and effectively coordinate across departments.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and delivering technically sound constructible solutions.
