WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING HERE AT TEAM RC

This position might be perfect for you if:

  • You enjoy using diagnostic equipment and techniques to locate mechanical problems and determine the appropriate maintenance repair.

Youll be responsible for:
  • Performing preventative maintenance inspections and service for a diverse fleet.
  • Repairing vehicles and equipment with compressed natural gas diesel electric and unleaded fueling systems.
  • Performing mechanical repairs; brakes systems drivelines transmissions steering suspensions differentials disassembling repairs and replacing worn parts.
  • Repairing and/or replacing hydraulic pumps and lines; rewiring and reconditioning electrical systems.
  • Repairing small gasoline engines pumps and miscellaneous equipment and tools.
  • Using machine shop equipment; welding and machining techniques to construct repair and modify parts and equipment. Performing basic in-cab and body repair work.
  • Responding to emergency calls performing repairs at the work site or transporting vehicles or equipment to the shop for repairs.
  • Keeping records of time materials parts used and work performed. Determining supplies materials parts and equipment necessary to complete repairs.
  • Participating on the maintenance and cleaning of the fleet shop facilities tools and repairing of equipment; cleaning spilled oils and fuels.

This position may be required to work at multiple City locations.

ARE YOU QUALIFIED

Education and/or Experience:
Graduation from high school including or supplemented by training in repair of motorized equipment; and two years of journey-level experience in the maintenance and repair of light to heavy electric compressed natural gas gasoline and diesel-powered equipment or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge and abilities.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of techniques and methods of overhauling and repairing electric compressed natural gas gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles/equipment and related components including engines transmissions suspensions starting systems fuel systems air conditioning systems and electrical systems; theory care and operation of compressed natural gas diesel electric hybrid and gasoline-powered internal combustion engines and mechanical components for the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment; methods materials tools and equipment of the trade and their use in the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment; preventive maintenance inspection methods. Ability to use manuals; use automated recordkeeping systems; use computerized diagnostic equipment and diagnostic techniques to locate mechanical troubles and determine appropriate maintenance work; repair and overhaul gasoline and diesel-powered equipment and related components with a minimum of supervision; understand and follow oral and written directions; prepare and maintain simple records; work safely; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

Special Requirements:
Possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate California drivers license and a satisfactory driving record.

Possession of or ability to obtain a California Commercial Motor Vehicle Class A Drivers License with air brake endorsements and a satisfactory driving record as a condition of satisfactory completion of the probationary period.
