Job Summary:The Sales and Event Specialist plans coordinates and facilitates meetings and events at the Bryant Conference Center. Assesses clients needs negotiates details of campus arrangements. Develops creative solutions for space limitations and clients budget constraints. Facilitates details of clients events. Develops and administers noncredit programs delivered by Bryant Conference Center.
Additional Department Summary:The Bryant Conference Center (BCC) is located in the heart of Tuscaloosa on The University of Alabamas campus and is West Alabamas premier meeting and event facility. The BCC has classrooms board rooms and event space perfect for trainings meetings and conferences. Each year over one hundred thousand guests attend academic business or social functions here.
Required Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher and some event planning hospitality marketing and/or public relations experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. drivers license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge:Ability to work effectively with a variety of client groups university personnel and faculty in developing and implementing program details. Proficiency in written verbal and electronic communications. Highly developed interpersonal skills. Able to work periodic evenings weekends and holidays due to conference meetings or events etc.
Preferred Qualifications:Hotel resort or conference center experience for an institution of higher education hotel property or other similar organization. Account Management Event Reservation Software and CRM experience.
