Job Summary:
The VMWare Environment Specialist will be responsible for the technical Linux/Windows administration and maintenance of UCS servers within a VMware environment. This role involves installing maintaining and upgrading computer software systems controlling user access implementing system enhancements monitoring performance and providing support in a fast-paced environment. The position requires on-site presence in Raleigh NC with travel to Charlotte data center for hardware issues.
The VMWare Environment Specialist will be responsible for the technical Linux/Windows administration and maintenance of UCS servers within a VMware environment. This role involves installing maintaining and upgrading computer software systems controlling user access implementing system enhancements monitoring performance and providing support in a fast-paced environment. The position requires on-site presence in Raleigh NC with travel to Charlotte data center for hardware issues.

Responsibilities:
- Install maintain and upgrade internal computer software systems.
- Control user access and passwords.
- Propose and implement system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
- Monitor system usage and performance.
- Maintain VMware-based environments.
- Monitor the virtual server infrastructure environments health status.
- Travel to data centers to troubleshoot hardware issues.
- Research evaluate and recommend software and hardware products.
- Provide new hardware specifications based on application needs.
- Work as a team member providing 24/7 support.
- Manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Install maintain and upgrade internal computer software systems.
- Control user access and passwords.

Required Skills & Certifications:
- 8 years of experience as a System Administrator
- 7 years of experience managing VMware VCenter 8.0 or later.
- 7 years of experience in customer support in a time-critical environment.
- 7 years of experience managing Nagios.
- 7 years of experience providing hands-on support of UNIX and Windows Server/Desktop environments including OS administration and systems support.
- 7 years of experience interfacing with Security Audit DBA Networking Microsoft and development groups.
- 6 years of demonstrated knowledge of Red Hat Linux on x86 platforms.
- 4 years of experience with standard office automation products (Word Excel PowerPoint Visio).
- 4 years of experience implementing Processes and Procedures creating controls and standardization across large regions.
- 4 years of experience managing and maintaining Storage such as Pure storage VSAN and backups
- 4 years of experience managing and maintaining SQL servers.
- 4 years of experience managing and maintaining Windows servers.
- 4 years of strong shell scripting abilities
- Valid drivers license
- 8 years of experience as a System Administrator
- 7 years of experience managing VMware VCenter 8.0 or later.
