Position Summary:
The EHS / Safety Manager is responsible for developing implementing and maintaining safety programs on the 2nd shift to ensure a safe work environment and compliance with federal state and local regulations. This role oversees workplace safety initiatives conducts inspections and audits provides training to employees and promotes a culture of safety. Fluency in English and French is required to communicate effectively with a diverse workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop implement and monitor safety policies procedures and programs.
Conduct workplace inspections audits and risk assessments on 2nd shift operations.
Investigate accidents incidents and near misses; recommend corrective actions.
Provide safety training guidance and coaching to employees and management in both English and French.
Ensure compliance with OSHA EPA and other regulatory requirements.
Maintain safety records reports and documentation.
Collaborate with operations and management to identify hazards and implement solutions.
Lead safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in EHS safety management or industrial safety.
Bilingual fluency in English and French (oral and written).
Knowledge of OSHA regulations environmental compliance and industry best practices.
Strong leadership communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to conduct training and influence behavior at all organizational levels.
Professional certifications (CSP CHST or equivalent) preferred.
Working Conditions:
Industrial or manufacturing environment with exposure to noise machinery chemicals or other hazards.
Requires walking standing and occasional physical inspections.
2nd shift hours; occasional travel may be required between facilities.
