Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled compassionate and dedicated Consultant Pediatrician to join our multidisciplinary medical team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive and evidence-based care to infants children and adolescents ensuring their optimal health and development. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional clinical competence strong leadership qualities and a genuine passion for pediatric medicine within a dynamic patient-centered hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care & Patient Management
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pediatric medical conditions across various age groups.
Provide preventive and curative care to promote overall child health and development.
Deliver long-term management plans for children with chronic diseases or developmental challenges.
Offer expert medical advice to parents and guardians ensuring understanding and compliance with care plans.
Conduct routine physical examinations immunizations and health screenings.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration & Quality Care
Collaborate closely with nurses allied health professionals and other specialists to ensure holistic patient care.
Participate in ward rounds case reviews and clinical audits to maintain quality standards.
Implement best practices in pediatric medicine aligned with institutional protocols and current clinical guidelines.
Training Leadership & Research
Supervise and mentor junior doctors resident physicians and medical students.
Participate actively in continuing medical education (CME) seminars and training workshops.
Engage in clinical research and contribute to the development of new pediatric care approaches and hospital policies.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
MBBS or MD degree from a recognized and accredited medical institution.
Fellowship of the West African College of Physicians (FWACP) or National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCPaed) in Pediatrics or an equivalent international qualification.
Valid practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
Minimum of 710 years post-specialist qualification experience in reputable healthcare institutions.
Excellent diagnostic clinical and decision-making skills.
Strong interpersonal communication and leadership abilities.
High ethical standards empathy and commitment to continuous professional development.
