Works collaboratively with clinical staff IT staff and vendors to achieve and maintain an outstanding User Experience. Responsibilities include project management project participation testing analysis trouble shooting education/training of staff system maintenance and ensuring maximum functionality to enhance all access functions. Acts as a liaison between Access (scheduling financial clearance pre-registration and registration) departments RCT (Revenue Cycle Training) and IT (Information Technology) Analysts. Serves as a resource to the Access team members and IT Analysts. Coordinates activities between Access RCT and IT Analysts.
Responsibilities:
Essential Function
1. Maintains the user experience for the access systems (pre-registration registration scheduling and financial clearance).
- Provides one on one at the elbow support for all users on a daily basis.
- Supports end users on site during new application implementation.
- Works collaboratively with Access staff Revenue Cycle Training clinical end users and IT Analysts to execute the Access work plan.
- Follows and understands the mission vision core values and Employee Standards of Behavior and company policies/procedures.
2. Education/Training/Support of users for current and future EMR functionality as related to Access functionality.
- Collaborates with Revenue Cycle Team to ensure curriculum is updated regularly.
- Coordinates training plans for new projects.
- Success is measured by end user feedback variance reporting outcomes safety measures and achieving the efficiency measures.
3. Participates as a member of a project team for implementation of new/upgrade of Cerner and bolt on applications related to Access processes/workflow.
- Participates in project design/development teams representing Access processes/workflow.
- Works with direction and supervision for assigned tasks.
- Completes assigned projects according to established timeline.
- Participates in functionality testing of new applications/codes for primary users to ensure accuracy of application functionality.
- Participates in review/assessment of vendor products.
4. Responsible for executing project plan and timeline as it relates to vetted Access projects.
- Duties include project communication analysis resource planning and end user participation.
- Represents Access functionality during Cerner projects on behalf of Access departments.
- Communicates impact of Cerner projects on Access functions.
5.. Prioritizes and coordinates with IT Analysts to maintain existing system via change requests.
- Collects specifications for changes from end user.
- Processes all change requests to IT via established procedures.
- Assures open communication regarding open change requests.
- Prepares/maintains change source documents in accordance with auditor requirements.
- Timely and sufficient testing for all maintenance changes to the system.
- Communicates to requesting end user upon completion of work.
- Provides needed training upon completion of work.
- Provides input in Access department goals.
- Supports data collection workflow and point of service collections in Access processes: scheduling pre-registration financial clearance and registration.
6.. Maintains and utilizes knowledge of national trends to enhance informatics practice.
- Maintains/updates knowledge in Cerner applications by regular use of uCern.
- Maintains knowledge of all federal state and regulatory guidelines regarding patient registration including patient registration notification forms.
- Participates in mandatory in-services and/or CE programs as mandated by policies and procedures/external agencies and as directed by management.
7. Develops effective relationships to facilitate a liaison function between users Access management users and IT Analysts.
- Appropriate vendor interaction to promote our priorities encourage excellent communication and ensure project successes.
- Communication to all appropriate audiences of MHS regarding Access changes project milestones and successes.
- Provides excellent customer service.

Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelors degree in Business or Healthcare related field required.
- Successful completion of Cerner Basic Architecture Course within 6 months from date of hire required.
- Successful completion of Cerner Fundamentals Course within 1 year from date of hire required.
Experience
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience working in a healthcare access role (scheduling precertification or registration) required.
License/Certifications
- Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) or Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) Certification required within 6 months of hire.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Sound knowledge of medical terminology required.
- Strong understanding of Access operations and workflow and regulatory standards.
- Requires ability to interact with all levels of access end users to train applications both new and existing upgrades.
- Requires ability to define and resolve user application issues/concerns.
- Must possess mathematical aptitude to track and interpret performance measures.
- Working knowledge of statistics and computer skills.
- Ability to lead change management activities
