Job Summary

The Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) offers affordable housing opportunities for Ohioans from rental assistance to homeownership. OHFA provides access to financial resources for the development & management of affordable housing. The Agencys programs serve first-time homebuyers renters senior citizens & other populations with special needs who otherwise might not be able to afford quality housing. OHFAs Office of Finance provides fiscal management budgeting & accounting for OHFA & its programs. The office manages mortgage revenue bonds administers & services the Agencys assets including its housing development loans. The office also coordinates the annual federal & financial audits of all Agency funds as well as prepares monthly financial reports & quarterly budget reports.

The Office of Finance is looking for a dedicated Accounts Receivable Accountant (Bond Accountant 1) who will:

  • Assist other Bond Accountants in completing monthly tasks (e.g. deposit checks create cash receipts maintain accounts receivable aging information review mortgage revenue bond programs maintain grant information)
  • Process draw requests (e.g. upload & index draws complete monthly folders in the document imaging system)
  • Support the purchasing supervisor (e.g. process purchase order requests create & maintain vendor entries upload & index purchasing documents communicate with vendors to resolve issues assist with agency travel responsibilities)
  • Process assigned finance help desk tickets (e.g. request needed information communicate status of ticket complete ticket)

The Office of Finance is seeking a Bond Accountant 1 with the following minimum qualifications:

  • 24 months training or 24 months experience in accounting.
  • OR completion of undergraduate core program in accounting finance economics business administration or public administration.
  • OR equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

    Applicants should be sure to include any accounts receivable & purchasing experience they possess on their application.

This position will be filled in accordance with the Ohio Civil Service Employees Association (OCSEA) contract. If we are not successful in filling the position with a qualified internal bargaining unit member other applicants will be considered. At that time preference will be given to those candidates who possess experience with accounts receivable and purchasing experience. Qualifying internal bargaining unit members are not eligible for consideration if they have applied and been considered within the past 180 days.
