Job Summary

The Medical Assistance Program (MAP) administers public health insurance programs including Medicaid for the City of New York. Applying individuals and families are approved for eligibility against applicable Federal and State guidelines. Those found to be eligible can use coverage provided to access doctors medication and other health care services at little or no cost.

The Administrative Services Division is responsible for all facility and supply related activities for MAP; including the administration planning and coordination of four sections: Facilities; Sub-Imprest/Procurement; Mailroom Stockroom and Reproduction; and Transportation and Fleet Administration Maintenance Section. The Transportation and Maintenance Fleet Administration Section is responsible for the coordination and maintenance of all vehicles assigned to MAP.


The Medical Assistance Program (MAP) is recruiting for one (1) Clerical Associate III to function as Control Clerk within MAPs Administrative Services Division who will:

-Assist the Unit with maintaining a filing system & Calendar for the control of MAP vehicles. Verify the accuracy of data for noncompliance issues.

-Assist the supervisory Team in the preparation of monthly divisional reports of the units activities for submission to the Director of Administrative Services and to MAPs Assistant Deputy Commissioner.

-Provide service desk coverage by answering telephone and providing relevant information and/or redirecting caller to the appropriate functional area in MAP to address their concerns.

-Complete basic data entry functions: perform basic MAP processing assignments using automated office systems equipment; type confidential correspondences forms memoranda and reports prepared by the supervisory team.

-Perform routine photocopying collating mail sorting and distribution scanning and indexing functions as needed for the Administrative Service Division.

-Distribute MetroCard to MAP Messengers and maintains records to track distribution and expenditures.

-Maintain automated systems for records correspondence participant case materials and other items by entering data into the appropriate system or systems and by retrieving materials as requested in order to facilitate preparation of information to complete the request of the division.


Hours/Schedule: 9AM 5PM (1 hour Flex)


Salary Range: $42288 - $48631

CLERICAL ASSOCIATE - 10251


Qualifications :

Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a States department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
