Job Summary

Ravenswood School for Girls is a Uniting Church Prep to Year 12 day and boarding school for girls located on Sydneys North Shore. Ravenswood offers both the HSC and the IB Diploma Programme as well as the PYP in the Junior School. We are seeking passionate Dance Teachers to join our schools Co-Curricular Dance Program on a casual basis commencing in 2026. Ravenswood is proud of its growing Co-Curricular Dance Program that offers classes for students in Prep to Year 12 in a wide range of dance styles.

We are looking to fill various roles: Senior School Hip Hop teacher and Senior School Dance teacher which may be filled by one or several candidates depending on skills and experience.

All successful candidates will:

Be highly organised with strong communication skills
Hold current CPR and First Aid training
Be willing to or have recently completed a Safe Dance training course
Be passionate about positively contributing to and growing the schools dance program

Senior School Dance Teacher - The successful candidate will:

Hold appropriate dance teaching qualifications and have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience teaching Senior School students (Years 7-12)
Have a firm grasp of fundamental dance training and be willing to support the technical growth of senior school students
Approach all classes from a safe dance perspective
Have experience in a range of dance styles including Contemporary Lyrical and Jazz
Create a fun inclusive and safe environment where students feel confident to take risks and learn new things
Have experience working with students of varying abilities

These classes are likely to be held on Mondays or Thursdays depending on timetabling.

Senior School Hip Hop Teacher - The successful candidate will:

Hold appropriate dance teaching qualifications and have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience teaching Senior School students (Years 9-12) in Hip Hop
Have a keen eye for polishing and refining performance groups in the Hip Hop style appropriate to a school context
Be willing to attend eisteddfods and performance events throughout the year
Be willing to take one Junior school (Kindy) Jazz class in addition to the Senior School classes

These classes are held on Tuesday afternoons with the potential for this role to expand over time.
