About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrician to join our team based out of our Youngtown depot working across Tasmania.

In this hands-on role youll carry out maintenance construction inspection and testing of electrical substations and equipment either connected to the Electricity Distribution Network or intended to be connect to the Electricity Distribution Network to ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of power across the network.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Effective operation of plant and equipment associated with the above duties including maintenance and reporting any defects or necessary repairs
  • Assist with faults and investigations and writing or assisting with the preparation of reports following faults investigations
  • Completing the above to correct industry standards with observance to the Safety Act PSSR Guidelines Network Installation Regulations and OH&S guidelines

About You

We are looking for an electrician for High Voltage and Extra High Voltage transmission substation construction. As part of our substation upgrade project work we perform secondary (LV control power SCADA) wiring and primary (11kV to 220kV) construction works.

This role involves hands-on work in a dynamic construction environment contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of critical infrastructure. You take pride in your attention to detail put safety first and enjoy being part of a collaborative team.

  • Competent in reading and interpreting schematic diagrams
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with all levels across the business internally and externally
  • TAS A Grade Electrical Licence
  • Current Drivers Licence (MR/HR desirable)
  • White/Blue Card (OHS Construction Induction Card)
  • High Risk Work Licence EWP (desirable)
