The Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA) is seeking an experienced executive to lead the Authority as their Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for a term of three months as a backfill arrangement

As the CEO you will provide visionary leadership to the Authority and oversee the management of the Sydney Olympic Park precinct as it continues its transformation into a vibrant thriving and well-connected metropolitan hub. You will shape and drive a bold strategic agenda that balances the delivery of diverse housing and employment opportunities world-class events and sustainability outcomes ensuring the precinct remains one of NSWs premier destinations to live work and visit.

You will lead reform to reposition SOPAs role within government guiding its evolution from a place manager to a strategic enabler of urban transformation. With accountability for the execution of the precincts Master Plan you will harness government-owned assets infrastructure investment and strategic partnerships to unlock economic environmental and social value.

This role requires a dynamic influential leader who can inspire teams build trust across government and industry and deliver outcomes that shape the future of the precinct and the broader NSW community.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a track record of leading large complex organisations through strategic reform and transformation.
  • Bring strong commercial governance and financial acumen with the ability to deliver sustainable organisational performance and accountability.
  • Be adept at building and leading high-performing teams that foster innovation collaboration and excellence.
  • Possess exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the capacity to influence outcomes at the highest levels of government and industry.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to translate long-term strategic vision into practical implementation strategies that deliver measurable results.
