JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Coordinates and conducts clinical or research activities related to the psychological evaluation and treatment of patients or research participants.
- Provides psychological physiological and/or behavioral assessments of patients.
- Administers a variety of neuropsychological tests which require advanced formal education to assess areas such as cognitive functioning academic skills personality and emotional development and behavior.
- Develops ideas to facilitate research studies and proposes ideas for new research studies.
- Recruits screens and conducts clinical evaluations of potential participants.
- Assists in determining their eligibility to participate in clinical trials.
- Collects compiles and analyzes data related to various psychological or behavioral studies.
- Extracts statistical data and prepares reports.
- Conducts interviews and schedules regular visits with study participants and their caregivers.
- Writes psychological reports and interprets results.
- Provides consultation and advice concerning post-study therapy interventions and behavior management.
- Educates patients concerning research procedures investigational devices and drugs.
- Maintains accurate and complete documentation on the delivery of mental health care services for study participants.
- Makes referrals to mental health professionals or services.
- May dispense medication in compliance with research protocols.
- Maintains required documentation.
- Attends and participates in regular administrative and clinical staff meetings.
- Conducts education or informational presentations for targeted audiences.
- May present study findings at conferences.
- Performs related responsibilities as required.
ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
GMN Specific Role & Responsibilities:
Establish appropriate communication of testing results across providers within each Memory Assessment Clinics (MAC)
Inform the design of internal reporting apps embedded in local MAC electronic medical record systems
Update/create training materials to be incorporated into MAC training specifically for use by psychometrics testing staff
Provide continuing education to psychometric testing staff at MACs via site visits and digital interfaces
Lead onboarding/training for neuropsych batteries at all MACs for in-person virtual and DPH collaboration visits
Create/implement regular auditing system
Work with MAC central leadership and Emory Cognitive Clinic on future collaborations
Assist with additional MAC core duties as needed
Act as a backup neuropsych tester at MACs as needed
This position will require some travel
Emory Cognitive Clinic:
Administers cognitive assessments
Assists in training/onboarding of new employees
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A masters degree in education psychology social work or a related field.
- An Education Specialist degree in School Psychology or a relevant PhD. One year of directly related experience.
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
