About the opportunity

In collaboration with Academic Units and other key stakeholders the PASS (Peer Assisted Study Sessions) Team Leader will manage the coordination implementation and evaluation of the university-wide PASS program. PASS is a peer learning program where high-achieving students are trained to offer free study sessions in target subjects. The aim of PASS is for students to connect and learn with their peers to develop deeper understandings of topics and to strengthen study strategies that are transferrable to other subjects. As such the incumbent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the PASS Program at the University and will supervise and support the large multi-campus team of PASS Leaders and Mentors. The PASS Team Leader will work with colleagues in the recruitment training ongoing professional development of the PASS Leaders and Mentors and evaluation of the program. They will be responsible for the marketing and promotion of the program both institutionally and nationally; and setting the strategic direction of the program to align with the universitys goals in relation to student learning student experience and student retention and success.

What youll do:

  • Contribute to the recruitment and selection of suitable PASS Leaders and Mentors and co-ordinate the planning and delivery of training.
  • Provide ongoing supervision and support to PASS Leaders and Mentors working across all campuses where PASS is offered.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the PASS program.
  • Engage in consultation and regular dialogue with unit coordinators and Academic Unit staff.
  • Manage effective communication and marketing of the program to both staff and students.

  • Demonstrated understanding of peer learning principles in higher education and experience in leading peer learning programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in proactively building and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Excellent organisational strategic planning and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide high level leadership to a diverse team.
  • Excellent cross-cultural and inter-cultural communication interpersonal negotiation and presentation skills.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $130943 comprising base salary within the range of $101821 to $111917 plus 17% superannuation.
