Role summary - Year 2 Teacher
As the Year 2 Teacher you will lead systematic phonics design engaging guided reading and writing sequences and deliver purposeful early maths lessons. The Year 2 Teacher will design continuous provision lead targeted interventions and support transition into KS2. From preparatory planning before January 2026 to full delivery after January 2026 the Year 2 Teacher will be central to securing strong foundational outcomes.

Day-to-day for the Year 2 Teacher
Mornings: the Year 2 Teacher leads phonics groups shared reading and focused writing sessions. Afternoons: the Year 2 Teacher plans enrichment and practical maths activities and leads small-group work. The Year 2 Teacher will liaise with parents attend moderation and data meetings and contribute to phase development beginning with induction in January 2026.

Candidate essentials - Year 2 Teacher
We are looking for a Year 2 Teacher with QTS (or equivalent) strong KS1 evidence and excellent communication skills. The Year 2 Teacher should be able to prepare prior to January 2026 attend induction in January 2026 and teach from January 2026 as the Year 2 Teacher in this Independent School. Experience with assessment for learning and family engagement will help the Year 2 Teacher hit the ground running.
