Carrier Compliance Freight Brokerage

Negotiable based on experience scope and work arrangement
Carrier Compliance Specialist: $60000 $95000 base depending on market and depth (TMS RMIS ownership fraud program audit leadership).
About the role
Were seeking an experienced Carrier Compliance professional to own carrier vetting onboarding and ongoing monitoring within a fast-moving freight brokerage environment. Youll protect shippers and the brand by ensuring every carrier meets regulatory insurance and internal standards while helping ops and sales move freight faster with less risk.
Responsibilities
Vetting and onboarding: Verify MC/USDOT authority and safety rating in FMCSA/SAFER confirm active insurance and limits collect W-9 brokercarrier agreement and all required documents apply hiring standards
Monitoring and maintenance: Track expirations for insurance and authority maintain clean carrier profiles in the TMS trigger re-qualifications as needed experience with RMIS SaferWatch or similar preferred
Fraud prevention: Execute checks to mitigate double brokering and identity spoofing follow documented SOPs to block non-compliant carriers escalate red flags immediately
Policy and audit: Maintain hiring criteria run periodic file audits prepare monthly compliance reports and KPIs
Team enablement: Partner with carrier sales and operations to clear carriers quickly educate teams on compliance best practices support claims with accurate documentation.
Requirements
Qualifications
2 years in brokerage carrier compliance carrier onboarding or DOT/FMCSA compliance
Working knowledge of FMCSA/SAFER COI requirements and brokercarrier contracts comfort with TMS and compliance tools (RMIS SaferWatch or equivalent)
Detail-oriented organized strong communicator with urgency
Success metrics
Zero loads tendered to non-compliant carriers
< 24-hour cycle time from application to approval with complete docs
100% of expiring insurance and authority addressed before lapse
Monthly audit score 95% with current SOPs on file
