Experienced CNC Laser machine operator wanted for ongoing position in modern workshop at Darra starting as a casualwith a view to permanent transition!

$36 to $40/hr negotiable based on experience level

5am to 1.30pm withearly finish on Fridays

Metal work experience - cleaning & de-burring etc.

Forklift licence required

Providingservices for Mining Defence Manufacturing and many others within large fast paced production environment focused on safety and quality.

Duties:

• Operation of a laser cutting machine to produce sheet metal products
• Downloading and running programs
• Loading and unloading the machine
• Cleaning and basic maintenance of the machine and immediate work area

Responsibilities:

1. Machine Setup and Calibration:

   • Operation of a CNC Laser machine ensuring that a quality product is produced according to job specifications in the correct quantity as per the drawing and work instruction
   • Calibrate machines to ensure accurate production adjusting the machine as required for different material types &dry running the program to prove it is correct
   • Loading and unloading the machine with the correct stock checking dimensions during the production run

2. Interpret Technical Drawings:

   • Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
   • Understand geometric dimensions and tolerances

3. Tool Selection and Maintenance:

   • Select appropriate cutting tools for the job
   • Perform regular tool changes and maintenance

4. Programming and Operating:

   • Write and modify CNC programs as needed
   • Operate CNC machines to produce parts efficiently and accurately

5. Quality Control:

   • Monitor the production process to ensure quality standards are met
   • Perform in-process inspections

6. Troubleshooting:

   • Identify and resolve issues that may arise during production
   • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams for problem-solving

7. Documentation:

   • Maintain accurate records of machine settings tool changes and production runs
   • Complete production logs and reports

8. Safety and Compliance:

   • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines
   • Ensure machines are in compliance with all relevant regulations

Essential

• Ability and willingness to learn sheet metal workingother duties andmachine operations
• Strong teamwork and ability to build good rapport with colleagues
• Capable of performing manual tasks as needed
• Must have a minimum of 6months proven Laser profile cutting machine operation experience
• You will be extremely reliable safety orientated possess a strong work ethic and have a great attitude

Desirable

• Possess Turret Punch Machine operating skills
• Background in Sheet Metal Trade or similar
• Knowledge on Trumpf Laser Machines
• Strong problem-solving skills and good attention to detail
• Proactive mindset and a commitment to a ONE TEAM culture
• Ability to adapt and collaborate to meet customer expectations
