Internal Medicine-Yarmouth

Responsibilities

• provide full scope of practice internist services
• participate in call shifts
• provide support to your own site but also to others in the Western Zone if required which includes day-time coverage and occasional overnight/weekend coverage
• be responsible to the Zone Department Head for Internal Medicine for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice
• operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of Nova Scotia Health Authority
• participate in teaching both family medicine and internal medicine residents and fellows

Expected Hours

• full-time
• on-call requirement for Internal Medicine (1:7)
• weekly coverage for ICU and Internal Medicine hospitalist during which time physician will provide outpatient care appropriate to their subspecialty

Qualifications :

• all applicants must be eligible for licensure with theCollege of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
• all specialists must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) 
• membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
