Job Summary

We have a fixed-term opportunity within our Human Resources team for an experienced and customer-focused HR Services Consultant.  This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a large fast-paced HR environment and contribute to the smooth delivery of key HR services across the University.

Reporting to the HR Services Team Leader you will provide end-to-end transactional HR support across a range of employment processes. Youll work closely with faculties and service divisions to ensure accurate timely and efficient service delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing employment variations parental leave secondments and resignations
  • Supporting onboarding processes issuing employment agreements through HR systems
  • Monitoring non-advertised recruitment and assisting with hiring-related queries
  • Ensuring accurate data entry and liaison with Payroll for record accuracy
  • Providing advice and informal training to staff on HR systems
  • Identifying and contributing to continuous improvement initiative

This is a Band E role with a salary range from $62400 to $70000 full-time per annum rate.

About the team Mō tō mātou rōpū

Youll join a large diverse and welcoming HR Services team. This group made up of HR-IT and Payroll serves as a key first point of contact for HR-related queries. The team prides itself on its collaborative inclusive culture and its dedication to excellent service delivery.

Important Skills Ngā Pūkenga Motuhake

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have previous experience in HR administration or similar roles
  • Are confident users of Microsoft Office and HR Systems such as WorkDay SmartRecruiters or similar HRIS/ATS tools
  • Display excellent customer service skills and attention to detail
  • Can manage high-volume processing and tight deadlines with ease
  • Understand HR policies compliance obligations and employment legislation
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • Hold a tertiary qualification in HR or a related field (preferred)
