About the Role
This position is responsible for generating and polishing optical components (precision lenses) using CNC machines with 3 4 and 5 axes; NC; 2 axes and 2 mechanical axes equipment. Operates various precision optics CNC dual-spindle technology and axis design machines with a sound technical problem solving skills. Perform final inspection of complicated optical elements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Set up CNC programs; CAN cycles with G-code understandings
- Generate and polish optical components
- Grind optical components; Precision Optics CNC
- Edge optical components; Precision Optics CNC
- Hand polish optiocal components
- Polish optical components; both Precision Optics CNC and Diamond Turned CNC
- Inspect/measure optical components to ensure conformity to specified tolerances
Education & Skills Requirements
- Diploma in Photonics or Mechanical Engineering Technology or a minimum of 12 months experience in a related discipline
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Strong technical knowledge capabilities
- Sound technical problem solving skills
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to comprehend and follow detailed instructions
